Statewide College Football Outlook
Whether it be SEC stalwarts like Tennessee or Vanderbilt, American Athletic Conference member Memphis or Conference-USA’s Middle Tennessee State, the Volunteer State is well represented on the gridirons of the FBS each fall.
This year, FanDuel Sportsbook Tennessee has set Tennessee Volunteers football odds at a preseason win total over/under of 8.5. Vanderbilt sits at 2.5, Memphis at 9.5 and Middle Tennessee State at 4.5 for the 2024 CFB season.
Of the four, Memphis has the best conference title odds, sitting at +210 and atop FanDuel’s AAC odds board. UT is listed at +1800 in the SEC, MTSU at +2500 in C-USA and Vanderbilt at +50000 in the SEC.
Which TN Cities Are Most Excited About CFB?
The top cities when it comes to search interest in college football for the 2024 season are western outpost Jackson, which scored 100 points according to our research. That ranks ahead of UT’s hometown of Knoxville, which had 97 points.
Chattanooga at 96 and Vanderbilt’s home city of Nashville at 95 also have a great deal of interest in the upcoming season. See our guide to Tennessee college betting for tips.
Tri-Cities rounds out the top five on our list with a score of 92.
Regardless of where in the Volunteer State you look at, you’ll likely find plenty of CFB fans, whether they root for the hometown Vols, Commodores, Blue Raiders or Tigers, or another college team entirely.
Luckily for football fans in the state, there are plenty of winners to choose from, from the Great Smokies west towards the soulful city of Memphis. The 2024 season has plenty of new wrinkles – the SEC welcomes Texas and Oklahoma to an expanded 16-team league. And the College Football Playoff will involve 12 teams for the first time in 2024, including an automatic berth for one Group of Five conference champion. That opens the door for Memphis to seek a possible CFP bid; see our Memphis Tigers betting odds all season to keep track of how far they can get.
