NASCAR Food City 500 2025 Odds: Hamlin Is A Hot Co-Favorite

Jim Tomlin Profile Picture

Denny Hamlin is 44 years old and is in his 20th full-time season in the NASCAR Cup Series. But he shows no signs of slowing in his pursuit of the one major accomplishment that has eluded him.

Hamlin has won the past two races, at Martinsville and Darlington, and aims for three in a row in Sunday’s Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway as the home of Tennessee sports betting again hosts NASCAR’s top circuit.

Here’s a look at the odds for Sunday’s race (3 p.m. Eastern, FS1) and a review of recent history at the half-mile oval.

Who Has The Betting Advantage For Food City 500?

Hamlin is the co-favorite for the Food City 500, at +400 odds, alongside Kyle Larson. It’s no surprise that the sport’s top three teams dominate the top of the charts, with drivers from either Joe Gibbs Racing, Hendrick Motorsports or Team Penske occupying the top seven spots.

Hamlin owns 56 victories in NASCAR’s top series, 11th on the career list. Four more wins will tie him with Kevin Harvick for 10th all-time. But Hamlin has never won three Cup races in a row in his career. Is that a significant NASCAR betting trend for Bristol?

A sneaky good bet for Bristol might be on Chris Buescher of Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing. Since joining the team in 2020, Buescher has an average finish of 11.4 in seven starts at Bristol, including a victory in the fall race in 2022 among four top-10 finishes. He has +3000 odds to win at bet365 and a line of +2800 at Caesars Tennessee Sportsbook.

Do you believe in recent track history or current form when you place a wager on NASCAR with Tennessee sportsbook apps?

That’s the big question for this week. Larson has been the man to beat for the past few years on the high-banked 0.533-mile oval, which bills itself as the “World’s Last Great Colosseum.” He has finished first, fifth, second, fifth and first in the past five races on the concrete surface, including a victory in the night race last fall.

But Joe Gibbs Racing is the team in the best form. JGR has won five of the eight races this season – the past two by Hamlin and three in a row by Christopher Bell in late February and early March. Both have clinched spots in the 16-car NASCAR playoffs over the season’s final 10 races and that’s especially crucial for Hamlin, who has yet to win a series championship. Hamlin won the Bristol spring race last year.

William Byron has finished third twice at Bristol but has yet to win in 11 starts. The 2025 Daytona 500 winner leads the series in points going into the Food City 500.
