Memphis Grizzlies Next Head Coach Odds

Christopher Boan Profile Picture

The Memphis Grizzlies shockingly parted ways with head coach Taylor Jenkins with his team still in the playoff picture in the Western Conference. BetTennessee.com then developed odds projecting who the team will have as their next head coach following this news. Given the nature of this firing, it was always likely the team would just elevate an assistant coach to be the interim head coach for the rest of the season. That proved true with the appointment of Tuomas Iisalo.

Lisalo Takes Over In Memphis

After a 464-game tenure in the Bluff City where he racked up a .539 winning percentage and 250 wins on TN betting apps, Jenkins’ time with the Grizzlies ended abruptly on Friday, clearing the way for one his assistants to get the job on a permanent basis.

Jenkins himself came to the Grizzlies after stints on the bench as an assistant with the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks under head coach Mike Budenholzer from 2013 to 2019.

Lisalo has been with Jenkins since the start of the season, with the former veteran of various European leagues having coached everything from Finland’s under-20 FIBA team to international squads like Tapiolan Honka, Crailsheim Merlins, Telekom Baskets Bonn and Paris Basketball, where he was from 2023 to 2024. Now he is tasked with getting the Grizzlies over the hump, as the Western Conference club is 44-32 and in sixth place with 15 games to play in the regular season, opening up a solid shot at getting the job on a full time basis should the team go on a deep run once the postseason begins next month.

However, the team is 0-3 in Lisalo's first three games...
