Tennessee’s Favorite Fast Food Restaurants
If there’s one item of the American cultural zeitgeist that residents of states like Tennessee enjoy squabbling over, it’s the claim to fame of being the top fast food restaurant in a given state or region, with the Volunteer State siding with the Golden Arches.
We can say as much thanks to the digital tea leaves known as search interest scores, which show us that McDonald’s is the top fast food joint in Tennessee, with a total score of four points to beat out four national brands in Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s and Sonic Drive In — which all had two search interest points apiece.
Throw in other regional and national fast food brands like Burger King, Zaxby’s, Chipotle, Raising Cane’s and Bojangles’ — all of whom scored one search interest point in Tennessee — and you have the full list of the state’s go-to fast food restaurants for the year.
Ahead of Fast Food Day on November 16th, BetTennessee.com analyzed the most popular fast food chain restaurants of TN residents by looking at the search results of each chain from 11/07/2023 to 11/07/2024.

Which Fast Food Restaurant is Tennessee’s Favorite?
As stated above, McDonald’s was Tennessee’s top fast food restaurant during the period in question (based on search interest scores) with a total of four points to double up Taco Bell, Chick-fil-A, Wendy’s and Sonic Drive-In, which had two points each.
Throw in the quintet of fast food giants that scored one point apiece during said period and you have the full list of Tennessee’s favorite fast food joints for 2024, though none of them hold the hearts and minds of state residents that McDonald’s does, with Ronald McDonald and company scoring top honors in the Volunteer State.
